Connecting CreditSafe to Kolleno

How to connect your CreditSafe account to Kolleno to fetch credit reports for your customers.

CreditSafe holds credit data on the companies you trade with. Connecting your CreditSafe account lets Kolleno fetch a credit report for a customer and surface it where you are already working the score, rating, risk level, and credit limit on the customer's Insights tab, a trend of how the score has moved over time, and the report PDF in the customer's Files tab.

Every report Kolleno fetches costs one credit from your CreditSafe contract, so the connection comes with settings that decide who gets a report and how often. Reports are pulled on demand only until you switch on an automatic pull.

The CreditSafe settings page is available to Admin users only.

What you need before you connect

  • Connect API credentials — the username and password for the CreditSafe Connect API. These are not your CreditSafe portal login; your CreditSafe account manager issues them.

  • The identifier your account uses — either a Connect ID (for example GB-0-03836192) or a Safe Number.

  • Your contract figures — how many reports your contract includes, whether that renews yearly or monthly, and the date your contract period starts.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → CreditSafe and click Connect.

  2. Enter your Connect API username and password.

  3. Turn on Use Safe Numbers only if your CreditSafe account identifies companies by Safe Number rather than Connect ID.

  4. Click Connect.

Kolleno checks the credentials immediately. The card then shows Connected, the account they belong to, and when data was last synced.

Reconnecting and disconnecting

  • Reconnect — use this when your CreditSafe credentials change. Enter the new credentials in the same way.

  • Disconnect — available from the menu. Reports, PDFs, and figures already fetched remain exactly where they are; only future fetching stops.

When something goes wrong

If a pull could not fetch a report, the card shows a warning with View details, displaying the reason CreditSafe returned. Common causes are:

  • Report credits on your contract are used up.

  • Your account has no access to that company's country.

  • The identifier held for a customer is not one CreditSafe recognizes.

Credentials that have stopped working can be fixed with Reconnect. A spent contract needs either its reset date or more credits purchased from CreditSafe. If the reason is unclear, contact us at support@kolleno.com and we will look into it with you.
