Applying bank fees to a payment from multiple customers

Choose which customer a bank fee or FX adjustment is posted to when one payment covers invoices from several customers.

When one bank transaction pays invoices for more than one customer, you can still record a bank fee or FX adjustment against it. Kolleno lets you choose which customer the adjustment is posted to.

Where to find it

Go to Reconciliation, select the bank transaction or remittance, select the invoices it pays, and open the Make adjustments, as needed. section.

How it works

  • Add your adjustment line as usual, for example a Bank fee and its amount.

  • If the selected invoices belong to two or more customers, a Post bank fee to dropdown appears.

  • The dropdown only lists the customers on the selected invoices.

  • Kolleno selects the customer with the largest allocated amount by default, so in most cases there's nothing to change.

  • Click Match to preview, then confirm. The bank fee is posted against the customer you chose.

Things to note

  • The choice applies to every adjustment line on the match, including bank fees and FX adjustments.

  • The adjustment can't be larger than the amount allocated to the chosen customer. If it is, pick a customer with a larger allocation.

  • For single-customer matches, the dropdown doesn't appear and the adjustment goes to that customer automatically.

  • If you change the selected invoices, Kolleno keeps your chosen customer as long as they're still part of the match. Otherwise it switches back to the default.
