Kolleno estimates how much money is likely to be paid next for each invoice.
The calculation depends on whether the customer has a payment plan, has made partial payments before, or usually pays in full.
1. If there is a Payment Plan
If the customer is on a payment plan, Kolleno simply takes the next scheduled instalment(s) from that plan.
For example:
If the customer is supposed to pay £500 every month → the next expected amount is £500.
2. If there is no plan, but the customer has made partial payments before
If the customer doesn’t have a plan but tends to pay in smaller chunks, Kolleno looks at their usual partial payment pattern. It checks what percentage of the invoice they typically pay each time and uses that to predict the next payment.
For example:
If they usually pay around 30% of what’s owed each time, and the open balance is £1,000 → the expected amount is £300.
3. If there is no plan and no history of partial payments
If there’s no payment plan and the customer hasn’t made partial payments before, Kolleno assumes they’ll pay the full remaining balance.
For example:
If the invoice total is £1,000 and nothing has been paid yet → the expected amount is £1,000.
In short
Kolleno looks at how the customer usually pays and adjusts the forecast accordingly:
With a plan → next instalment amount
Without a plan but with partials → typical partial payment amount
No plan or history → full open balance
