Account Owner as Email Recipient in Workflows

Send workflow emails directly to the customer’s account owner by selecting them as a recipient.

You can send Workflow emails directly to the Account Owner of a customer.

  1. This option is available only in email workflow actions, not in SMS.

  2. When configuring an email step, you’ll see a “Account Owner” recipient option highlighted in blue — indicating it's a system-defined option.

  3. Once selected and saved, it will be retained in the configuration.

This helps route internal notifications or alerts directly to the person responsible for that customer.

Please note that, if there is not Account Owner for the customer, the workflow will return an error for that customer (see here): "Likely due to a missing or invalid email address."
