A rich text editor, often abbreviated as RTE, is like a supercharged writing tool. It's designed to make creating and formatting text easy and fun, giving you more options than a basic text editor. Think of it as your regular text editor, but with extra features that lets you tweak fonts, colors, and layouts to make your text stand out just the way you want.

Key Features of a Rich Text Editor:

  1. Text Formatting: Make your text stand out with features like bold, italics, underline, different font sizes, and colors.

  2. Paragraph Formatting: Adjust the alignment (left, center, right, justified) to give your document a polished look.

  3. Lists: Easily create bulleted or numbered lists to organize information in a structured manner.

  4. Hyperlinks: Insert links to external websites, documents, or resources right into your text.

  5. Images: Spice up your content by embedding images and tweak their size within the text.

  6. Tables: Organize information neatly with tables, allowing you to create a structured layout.

  7. Undo/Redo: Correct mistakes or experiment with different formatting options using the undo and redo functions.

  8. Spell Checking: Avoid embarrassing typos with built-in spell-checking features.

  9. Copy-Paste Support: Effortlessly copy text from other sources and paste it into the editor while maintaining formatting.

These are just a few of the features typically found in a RTE. In the next section we will take a closer look at the Kolleno RTE and all the features it supports.
