Pause workflow steps when customer chasing is disabled

Pause a workflow step when customer chasing is turned off and resume it automatically when chasing is enabled again.

When chasing is switched off for a customer, customer group, or invoice, the record should not be removed from the workflow.

Instead, it should pause at a particular step and automatically resume from the same point once chasing is turned back on.

How It Works

When the If customer is paused for chasing toggle is enabled in workflow settings:

  • The workflow record pauses at the current step if pause chasing is set to TRUE

  • No further workflow actions are executed while chasing is paused

  • Once chasing is re-enabled, the workflow resumes from the same step

How to Configure It

  1. Open the workflow you want to update

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Enable If customer is paused for chasing

  4. Save the workflow

Once enabled, records with pause chasing = TRUE will wait at the current workflow step instead of exiting the workflow.

Important Notes

  • This setting works independently of workflow filters

  • Do not use pause chasing as a workflow filter, as this will remove the record from the workflow

  • The pause behavior applies to customers, customer groups, and invoices
