Managing an invoice often involves more than just sending it out — you may need to coordinate with a colleague, schedule a follow-up, or look into a payment issue. That’s where tasks come in.

Creating a task directly from an invoice keeps everything in context and ensures nothing slips through the cracks. With just a few clicks, you can assign the right person, set a due date, and track progress — all without leaving the invoice view.

In this article, we’ll walk you through the different options on how to easily create a task from an invoice, step by step.

Invoices table

On any invoices table — whether you're on the main Invoices screen or viewing a specific customer’s invoices — you’ll always have the option to create a task from the ellipsis menu on an individual invoice.

The task creation screen will appear with the invoice pre-selected.

Customer Hub - Actions

On the customer hub page, click on the Action button and select Task

This will open the task creation form, where you can choose from a variety of task categories to help keep your workflow organized.
