When you connect Business Central, Kolleno asks for your environment name. Business Central uses it to identify which of your environments to read from, so the name has to match exactly.

Most companies have a single environment called Production, which is what the field is filled in with. You only need to change it if yours is named something else, or if you want Kolleno to read from a different environment.

This is the quickest way and works for any Business Central user.

Open Business Central and look at your browser address bar. The environment name appears in the address, after your tenant ID:

For example, in https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/a1b2c3d4-1111-2222-3333-444455556666/Production/ the environment name is Production.

Both of those parts are optional in Business Central addresses, so if you do not see them, use the admin centre instead. Microsoft documents the full address format in Web client URL.

This shows every environment you have, and is the reliable option if you are not sure.

The admin centre is only available to people holding the Dynamics 365 Administrator or Dynamics 365 Business Central Administrator role in your organization. If you do not see the Admin Center option, ask whoever manages Business Central for you.

Business Central subscriptions include one production environment and several sandboxes, and larger organisations often add more, for example one per country.

Choose the environment that holds the invoices and customers you want Kolleno to work with. That is normally your production environment.

Environments can also be renamed, so the name will not always be Production. Microsoft requires environment names to be under 30 characters, to start with a letter, and to contain only letters, numbers, underscores and dashes.
