When you open a new action in the Task Manager — whether that's an email, a call, a note, or any other type — it starts as a draft. It's yours, it's private, and it hasn't been sent or saved yet.
What a draft looks like
A draft action shows a yellow DRAFT badge. It appears in the Pending section and is only visible to you until you're ready to share or send it.
If you open an action editor and then close it without doing anything at all — no typing, no assigning, nothing — no draft is created. It simply disappears. This keeps your task queue clean.
When does a draft get created?
Your draft is saved automatically as you type. If you close the editor before sending, the draft stays in the Pending section so you can come back to it later.
If you want to remove it entirely, click the Discard button — this deletes the draft permanently.
Draft vs New
Once you assign a draft action to someone (including yourself), it moves from Draft to New — meaning it's now live and visible to the assignee.
Status | What it means |
Draft | Started but not yet assigned. Only visible to user who drafted it. |
New | Assigned and live. The assignee can see it and act on it. |
