GoCardless Pre-Filling the Wrong Customer Details When Creating a Mandate

GoCardless may pre-fill the wrong customer details if the customer ID mapping in Kolleno is incorrect.

If you notice that GoCardless is auto-filling the wrong customer name or email address when generating a new mandate link, it’s usually because the customer in Kolleno is mapped to an incorrect GoCardless customer ID.

Why This Happens

When generating a payment method link in Kolleno, Kolleno sends GoCardless the customer ID (e.g., CU017AN6YFYW40W).

GoCardless then auto-fills the customer’s name and email address based on the information saved for that ID in the form to create the new direct debit mandate.

If a link was previously shared manually outside of Kolleno to the wrong customer, or you made a mistake mapping the existing GoCardless customers to Kolleno, GoCardless may associate the mandate with the wrong customer.

As a result, the new mandate form will show incorrect pre-filled details.

How to Fix It

You can resolve this issue by manually updating or clearing the mapping in your settings. Follow this guide here.
