At Kolleno, we understand that handling payments efficiently and securely is crucial for your business. We've partnered with Stripe, a leading payment processing platform, to provide a seamless and secure payment experience for you and your customers. This overview explains how the integration works, focusing on the security measures and data flow involved.

How the Integration Works

Connecting Your Stripe Account to Kolleno

  • Secure Authorization (OAuth): When you connect your Stripe account to Kolleno, you're using a secure process called OAuth. This allows Kolleno to interact with your Stripe account without ever seeing your login credentials.

Accepting Payments via Stripe Checkout

  • Variety of Payment Methods: With Stripe Checkout, you can accept payments through credit/debit cards and bank transfers (ACH/ACSS), depending on what you've activated in your Stripe settings.

  • Customer Experience: Customers receive a payment link that directs them to a secure Stripe-hosted checkout page. Here, they can safely enter their payment details.

Data Flow and Security

Initiating Payments

  • Payment Requests: When you initiate a payment request in Kolleno, we communicate with Stripe to generate a unique, secure payment link for your customer.

  • No Sensitive Data Stored: Kolleno does not store any sensitive payment information like credit card numbers. All sensitive data is handled exclusively by Stripe.

Receiving Payment Notifications (Webhooks)

  • Real-Time Updates: Stripe sends Kolleno instant notifications, known as webhooks, whenever there's a payment event—such as a successful payment or a failed transaction.

  • Automatic Reconciliation: These notifications allow Kolleno to automatically update your records, keeping your financial data accurate and up-to-date without manual intervention.

Charging Saved Payment Methods

  • Payment Method IDs: When a customer opts to save their payment method, Stripe provides Kolleno with a secure identifier (Payment Method ID), not the actual payment details.

  • On-Demand Charges: Kolleno can use this ID to charge the customer on your behalf in the future, without accessing or storing sensitive payment information.

Security Measures in Place

Data Encryption

  • Secure Communication: All data exchanged between Kolleno and Stripe is encrypted using industry-standard protocols. This means any information transmitted is converted into secure code, preventing unauthorized access.

Limited Access and Control

  • Access Restrictions: Only authorized systems and personnel can access payment data necessary for processing transactions.

  • Customer Consent: Customers have control over their payment information and must provide explicit consent to save payment methods for future use.

Your Control Over the Integration

  • Revocable Access: If needed, you can revoke Kolleno's access to your Stripe account easily, giving you full control over the integration.

Benefits of the Integration

  • Enhanced Security: By leveraging Stripe's robust security infrastructure, your customers' payment data is protected at all times.

  • Efficiency: Automating payment processing reduces manual tasks, allowing you to focus on your core business.

  • Improved Cash Flow: Faster payment processing means quicker access to funds, improving your business's financial health.
