If you have a lot of Tasks to assign to a User, you will find it handy to use the Bulk Action functionality.
Go to Tasks Manager
Select the appropriate checkboxes on the left of the table
Click on Bulk action
Select Assigned user as the Property to update
Select the user
Click on Update
