What is Custom DNS?

  • DNS stands for Domain Name System and is the server configuration mapping the internet URLs you use.

  • By setting up a subdomain in your DNS that points to Kolleno servers, it enables you to send large volumes of emails as Kolleno becomes the email server, rather than relying on restrictions from Microsoft/Gmail.

  • Emails will be sent from a subdomain such as @billing.yourcompany.com instead of @yourcompany.com.

    • Please note you can choose any subdomain that you want.

The subdomain created will not interfere with your main domain.

What are the benefits?

When sending hundreds or thousands of emails a day, this is highly recommended for enabling volumes to send quickly and without triggering alerts on your email server.

  • Increased speed when sending emails

How to set up Custom DNS?

In order to do this, please connect your technical team with your Kolleno account manager so we can send you DNS records to add to your server configuration for the subdomain.

How long does it take to set up?

It is fairly quick and easy to set up and should not take more than 15 minutes to fully setup.
