How to install a Business Central extension?

The extension allows Kolleno to access customer payment data from Business Central

Pre-requisites

A Business Central user with the permission set “EXTEN. MGT. - ADMIN” is required to upload and deploy the extension (download here). To grant a Business Central user this permission follow the steps defined below from a user account with the “SECURITY” permission set.



1. Click the Search Icon 🔎 on the top right of Business Central and search for Users.

2. Select the user to grant permission to from the list of users.

3. Under “User Permission Sets” add a new row and select the “EXTEN. MGT. - ADMIN” permission from the list of permission sets that opens up.

4. Ensure that a specific company is not selected for this permission set.

Uploading and deploying the extension

The extension is a “.app” file that will be provided by Kolleno. From a user account with the “EXTEN. MGT. - ADMIN” permission set, follow the steps defined below.

1. Click the Search Icon 🔎 on the top right of Business Central and search for Extension Management.

2. In the window that opens up, click Manage and then Upload Extension.

3. Select the “.app” file that is provided to you, accept the privacy policy and terms and conditions and then click deploy.

4. You should see this message indicating that the deployment is in progress. Click OK.

5. You will be brought back to the Installed Extensions window. Click Manage, followed by Deployment Status.

6. Monitor the status of the extension deployment on this page until the status indicates “Completed”. Only once this deployment is completed can we move onto the next step.
