Link Customers in Clio and import the relations in Kolleno

This article will look at how to import link customers in Clio and import these relations in Kolleno

You can link customers together in Clio and import these relations in Kolleno. This is useful when you work with holdings or have a single point of contact for several customers.

Please note that this is optional.

To do this, you need to create a custom field in Clio:

  1. Go to Clio > Settings > Custom Fields > Contact Custom Fields

  2. Click on “ADD” in the top-right.

  3. Enter a name of your choice

  4. Choose “Contact Select” for the type and check the ‘Default’ box.

    The ‘Required’ field is optional, we recommend not to select it.

  5. Click on ‘Save’


Now when you edit a contact, you can select the parent contact in the ‘Custom Fields’ section:


Now go to your Accounting settings in Kolleno:

  1. Click on the sub-menu “Select custom field to link customers” in your Clio connection

  2. Choose the custom field you just created:

  3. Click on “Save”

It can take a few minutes, depending on the number of Customers you have, to synchronize. You do not need to repeat this operation in the future, it is a one-time thing.
