SuiteScript 2.1 requirement in NetSuite 2028.2: no action needed for Kolleno

NetSuite will require SuiteScript 2.1 from release 2028.2. The Kolleno SuiteApp already uses it, so you don't need to do anything.

Oracle NetSuite has sent its customers an email titled SuiteScript 2.1 Required for Custom Scripts in NetSuite 2028.2. It explains that from the NetSuite 2028.2 release, scripts written in older versions of SuiteScript will stop running.

No action is needed for Kolleno. The Kolleno SuiteApp already uses SuiteScript 2.1 and will keep working after the 2028.2 release. You don't need to update, reinstall, or reconfigure anything for this change.

Why you received the notice

NetSuite sends this notice to accounts that may include custom scripts on an older SuiteScript version. It's a general notice, so receiving it doesn't mean the Kolleno SuiteApp is affected.

What NetSuite is changing

From the 2028.2 release, NetSuite will only run scripts that use SuiteScript 2.1. Scripts written in SuiteScript 1.0 or 2.0, or annotated with @NApiVersion 2.0 or @NApiVersion 2.x, will stop running. NetSuite is phasing the change in over several releases:

What changes

2026.2

NetSuite announces SuiteScript 2.1 as the standard for new and existing scripts.

2027.1

SuiteScript 1.0 moves to end-of-life support, covering critical issues only.

2028.1

SuiteScript 1.0 scripts can no longer be deployed in new accounts. SuiteScript 2.0 and 2.x scripts run as 2.1 by default.

2028.2

All scripts must use SuiteScript 2.1. Scripts on older versions stop running.

What this means for Kolleno

The Kolleno SuiteApp installs two scripts in your NetSuite account, and both use SuiteScript 2.1:

  • Kolleno - RESTlet (customscript_kolleno_restlet)

  • Kolleno Webhooks (customscript_kolleno_webhooks)

Every released version of the SuiteApp has used SuiteScript 2.1, so this applies whichever version you have installed.

Check it in your NetSuite account (optional)

  1. In NetSuite, go to Customization > Scripting > Scripts.

  2. Open Kolleno - RESTlet and check its API Version field. It should show 2.1.

  3. Do the same for Kolleno Webhooks.

If you find a script with Kolleno in its name that shows a different API version, contact Kolleno Support and we'll look into it.

Your other scripts

This article covers the Kolleno SuiteApp only. NetSuite's notice also applies to any other scripts in your account, such as those written by your team, a consultant, or another vendor. Check those with whoever maintains them.

More information

NetSuite's notice points to two articles with more detail:

Both need a NetSuite login.
