Business Central Deep Link

View a Business Central link next to customer names. Automatically enabled when imported from Business Central.

When a customer in Kolleno was imported from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, an external-link icon appears next to the customer name on the Customer Hub page. Clicking it opens the customer card for that same customer in the Business Central web client, in a new tab.

When the icon appears

The icon is shown on a customer when all of the following are true:

  1. The customer was imported from Business Central

  2. Your Business Central connection in Kolleno is active

  3. The customer has a customer number (the No. field in Business Central)

If a customer was created manually in Kolleno, or came from a different accounting system, no Business Central icon is shown. Customers imported from NetSuite or linked to Salesforce have their own icon in the same place, and a customer can show more than one.

Where it takes you

Business Central has no direct address for a single record, so the link opens the customer card page filtered to that customer's number. You see the one customer, in the Business Central company and environment the record belongs to.

You need to be signed in to Business Central with an account that can see that customer. If you are not signed in, Business Central asks you to sign in first and then shows the card.

There is nothing to switch on. The deeplink appears automatically for every customer imported from Business Central, as soon as your Business Central connection is set up.

If the icon is missing on a customer

A small number of customers will not show the icon even though the rest do. The usual reasons are that the customer has no customer number in Business Central, or that its number contains an apostrophe, which Business Central cannot carry inside a page filter.

If the icon is missing across all of your customers, the Business Central connection itself most likely needs reauthorising. Contact support@kolleno.com and we will check it.
