How to Configure Settings for Each Task Category

A walkthrough of every setting in the task category configuration panel — classification description, rules, AI behaviour mode, playbook, allowed actions, and reset to defaults.

How to configure settings for each task category

Every task category in the Agents Control Centre has its own configuration panel. To access it, open the Agents Control Centre from the left navigation, find the category you want to configure, and expand it using the arrow on the right.

AI Classification Description

This is the text the AI reads when deciding whether an incoming communication belongs in this category. Write it as a description of the signals that indicate this category. The more specific this is, the more accurately the AI will route communications into the right category.

Rules

Rules let you add specific constraints on how the AI behaves for this category, without rewriting the whole playbook. You can add up to 20 rules per category. Type your rule into the input field and press ⌘ + Enter to add it.

AI Behaviour

This controls how actively the AI engages with tasks in this category. There are three options:

AI activity off — The AI will classify and link communications into this category, but won't take any further action.

AI Adjustments — The AI will automatically update task details such as status, priority, and due date based on new information, but won't suggest actions or generate drafts.

AI Adjustments and actions — The AI does everything: updates task details, suggests the right next actions, and generates drafts ready for your team to review. Drafts are never sent automatically — they always require a human to review and approve first.

AI Playbook

This is the AI's standard operating procedure for tasks in this category. Every time the AI plans actions on a task here, it reads the playbook first. Write it in plain, directive language. The more specific your playbook, the more consistently the AI will perform.

Allowed Actions

This is the hard boundary on what the AI can suggest. If an action type isn't listed here, the AI will never suggest it for tasks in this category — regardless of what the playbook says.

Reset to defaults

For system categories, a Reset to defaults button appears in the bottom right of the panel. This restores the classification description, playbook, rules, and allowed actions back to the original out-of-box configuration. Any customisations will be lost.
