Using Tag Categories in Workflow Filters

How to use customer, invoice, and credit note tag categories to build scalable and precise workflow conditions.

As your tag library grows, filtering workflows by individual tags becomes difficult to manage.


Tag Categories solve this by allowing you to filter workflows at a category level first, then refine results using only relevant tags.

This keeps workflows easier to configure, review, and maintain.


Available Tag filters

You can use the following tag falters in workflow conditions:

  • Customer Tags Category

  • Invoice Tags Category

  • Credit Note Tags Category


Example Workflow Configuration

The example below shows how multiple tag types can be combined:

  • Customer Group balance total is greater than: 50000

  • Customer Tags Category is one of: Location tags

  • Invoice Tags Category is not one of: Risk assessment

This ensures the workflow only triggers when all conditions are met.
