While our simple example above is easy to configure, managing and switching between multiple filters can become cumbersome when dealing with large filter sets. This is where table views become valuable. This feature lets you save filter sets as named views, which you can modify and even share with your team.
Creating a filer view starts with defining the initial set of filters. In our example above we have a filter set for invoices with a balance greater that 10,000.
Then from the Views dropdown we create the new filter by clicking on Save.
Kolleno will provide an initial name for the filter group based on the table being viewed, but from this screen you are able to make changes to your view.
Clicking on the edit table view name button we can update the name of the view to something a bit more descriptive like “Balance due > 10k”
Click on Update name to save your changes.
You can also mark a table view as favorite by selecting/deselecting the star button on the far right. Table views marked as favorites will appear at the top of the table view’s list.
It is also possible to provide additional filters to the view without changing the original set of filters. For example lets say that alongside invoices with balance greater that 10k we also want to see those that have been outstanding for 30 days. We can add this additional filter by using the Add filter button.
Clicking on Apply will set both filters to the table data, but the new filter will not be saved to the filter view. This means that should you navigate away from the table the changes made will be discarded. To persist any changes to a filter view’s filters you can make use of the Save button
Another option is to save the changes made to the table view as a completely new table view. The Save As button will copy the original table view which you can then update and save without affecting the original version.
The new version will have the word (COPY) attached to the name.
